The splint can be worn day\/night. It will help maintain proper alignment while your toe continues to heel. It is recommended to wear this splint as tolerated for 4 weeks after the cast has been removed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Orthowedge Shoe (optional)<\/strong><br \/>\nBring the shoe to the hospital for after the surgery. This shoe is designed to offload the forefoot for walking. It is to be worn 4-8 weeks post-surgery.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/orthohealth.ca\/orthotics\/\">Custom Orthotics<\/a> (optional)<\/strong><br \/>\nCustom Orthotics help to control faulty foot mechanics that caused the bunion. The orthotics will thereby help to decrease the likelihood of reoccurrence after surgery.
